This week: Johnny Zombie and Dillon discuss a range of topics in this episode--from "Let the Right One In," to the satanic panic of the 1980's. This episode focuses largely on moral panics, and their causes. Be it Dungeons and Dragons, heavy metal music, or homophobia--moral panics are an unfortunate part of our culture. The solution that we offer is to learn about other subcultures, from the people who live in them.

Tonight, Johnny Zombie and Dillon discuss the concept of Lost Worlds--films and TV shows that were never made, finished, or released. Such topics discussed are Richard Williams The Thief and The Cobbler, Fearless (A Rachel Leigh Cook show that never aired), and the aborted animated version of Buffy: The Vampire Slayer.
We also discuss Christopher Nolan's fully realized masterpiece Inception--our pick for best film of 2010.
Also included is a discussion of soon-to-be series and films, including adaptations of Stephen King's Dark Tower series and Neil Gaiman's The Sandman.

Johnny Zombie's Addendum: While a lot of research went into this episode, a lot of research has followed it. I accidentally found the fan edit of Richard Williams The Thief and The Cobbler: Recobbled on Google Video. I have included it here as an embedded file for your viewing pleasure. See for yourself why this film truly is a lost classic. I am remiss for not including a better synopsis of the film's plot in this episode, and didn't realize my mistake until post preduction. However, the first three minutes or so of the film set up it's premise. It is a fantastic tale set in the 1001 Arabian Nights era. However, please note that this was never intended as a children's film--discretion is advised.
Hey listeners,
This week, Johnny Zombie and Dillon discuss remakes, unmakes, and never-makes. We list the films we'd like to see remade, unmade, and never made. There is such a thing as a good remake, though it is hard to find. We give some examples of remakes gone right, and gone wrong. We also offer our thoughts on films that should never have existed in the first place. The episode is introduced by our new sponser Trader Zombies. We also discuss our recent revists to old sci-fi series and anime (more often then not, they coincide).
The discussion recorded for this episode is largely hypothetical. I invite all listeners to give examples of remakes--both good and bad. I also want to hear your thoughts on films that should never be.

Included as bonus material is an embed of the DUNE fan video that is mentioned in tonight's show. Plus, a link to Siloff's wonderful Steam Punk Star Wars figures.
In steam and monsters (and steamy monsters),
Johnny Zombie
Here's that bonus episode I've promised you. It's short, but sweet, and full of crunchy goodness!
I've taken the plunge into sci-fi and fantasy once again. This time, I've written a slightly pulpy sci-fi adventure story about Exo-Archaeologists Hazy Jack and Deirdre "Amazon" Yeats. I really enjoy writing these characters. I hope you enjoy listening to them. This is part of an ongoing serial that will continue until the story is finished. I give you the first installment this week, soon to be followed by future chapters. The Hazy Jack and Deirdre stories form the basis of a much larger work that I'm putting together as a fix-up. Hopefully, I can finish the entire book of novellas before the year is out--and then, off to the publishers!
Let me know what you think. I always appreciate hearing from you.

Tonight, Dillon and I blast some zombies with the lovely Dr. Zahara Cody, as we review Joe Schreiber's novel DEATH TROOPERS. It's Night of the Living Wookie, as the dead rise up in a galaxy far, far away. The crew of the imperial prison barge Purge are dropping like flies off a bantha, and only six survivors remain. Join Dr. Cody, Trig, Kale, and two surprise special guests as they battle their way against an army of the undead.
Trade in your lightsabers for boomsticks...it's gonna get messy in here!
This is part one of a two part review of Joe Schreiber's Star Wars novel Death Troopers. You can catch up with Joe at his blogspot site: http://scaryparent.blogspot.com/
