Nightmare Fuel Podcast (Season Two)--Episode 23: Swimming in Lake Bradbury

In the season premiere of Nightmare Fuel, we pay tribute to Ray Bradbury. One of genre fiction's most enduring voices comes to life, again, in this reading of Bradbury's classic story, The Lake.

Episode 34: Sunshine (2007)

Good evening, space cadets!
This week, I discuss Danny Boyle's underappreciated Sci-Fi epic Sunshine. I also weigh in on the Royal Wedding of Prince William and Kate Middleton (if Pippa is single, I'm available). I also give my impression of death of Public Enemy Number One (You know who...he's been all over the TV lately). This intro segment lasts for only ten minutes. After that, I move onto the main topic of the show, which lasts about thirty-five minutes (including music).

Sunshine is one of those moving, somber films, that is perfect to watch during a time of great social changes adn reflection. It helps to put it all in perspective. In addition to the magnificent direction of Danny Boyle, and the innovate script by Alex Garland, it also features a beautiful score by composer John Murphy (28 Days Later), and synth pop group Underworld.

The Pyramid of Death--Part One

Hey there, fellow travellers!

Here's that bonus episode I've promised you. It's short, but sweet, and full of crunchy goodness!

I've taken the plunge into sci-fi and fantasy once again. This time, I've written a slightly pulpy sci-fi adventure story about Exo-Archaeologists Hazy Jack and Deirdre "Amazon" Yeats. I really enjoy writing these characters. I hope you enjoy listening to them. This is part of an ongoing serial that will continue until the story is finished. I give you the first installment this week, soon to be followed by future chapters. The Hazy Jack and Deirdre stories form the basis of a much larger work that I'm putting together as a fix-up. Hopefully, I can finish the entire book of novellas before the year is out--and then, off to the publishers!

Let me know what you think. I always appreciate hearing from you.

As always, you can listen to the story here, and download it from my host at Archive.org

In love and ancient tombs, Johnny Zombie.
